The 2012-2013 season kicks off for Cal Poly basketball in Fort Worth on November 9 against TCU. From game one, the Mustangs will attempt to prove that they can perform as well as last season's team. They will be replacing 55% of last season's minutes with the expected contributions of six incoming freshmen.

The biggest gap for Cal Poly to fill will be on the defensive side, as the team lost 72.5% of their shot blocking. Following that is rebounding, where they also lost a big 58.9% of last year's output.
